The Nordic region’s largest market.
The Nasdaq Stockholm in Stockholm, Sweden, is open 09:00–17:30 local time, Monday to Friday. It trades straight through with no lunch break. Today that is to in UTC.
When Stockholm opens, liquidity in SEK rises; when it closes, it thins out. The hours when two big centres overlap — London with New York, Tokyo with Sydney — are when spreads are tightest and the large moves usually start. Book I of the ForeXistenZ trilogy teaches how to plan your day around these session hand-offs.
The regular session of OMX runs 09:00–17:30 local time (Europe/Stockholm), Monday to Friday. It is closed on Sweden public holidays. Opening and closing auctions are not included.
The live box on this page works it out from OMX’s regular hours in Stockholm time, so it is always current; it shows OPEN, LUNCH BREAK or CLOSED and when the next change comes. Public holidays are not shown.
The benchmark followed here is the OMX Stockholm 30. Its delayed public quote appears on this page.
Shares on OMX are priced in SEK. A foreign investor buying them must first buy SEK, so heavy equity flows into Sweden show up in the SEK exchange rate.
