The capital’s market, home of the emirate’s national champions.
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is open 10:00–15:00 local time, Monday to Friday. It trades straight through with no lunch break. Today that is to in UTC.
When Abu Dhabi opens, liquidity in AED rises; when it closes, it thins out. The hours when two big centres overlap — London with New York, Tokyo with Sydney — are when spreads are tightest and the large moves usually start. Book I of the ForeXistenZ trilogy teaches how to plan your day around these session hand-offs.
The regular session of ADX runs 10:00–15:00 local time (Asia/Dubai), Monday to Friday. It is closed on United Arab Emirates public holidays. Opening and closing auctions are not included.
The live box on this page works it out from ADX’s regular hours in Abu Dhabi time, so it is always current; it shows OPEN, LUNCH BREAK or CLOSED and when the next change comes. Public holidays are not shown.
The benchmark followed here is the FTSE ADX General.
Shares on ADX are priced in AED. A foreign investor buying them must first buy AED, so heavy equity flows into United Arab Emirates show up in the AED exchange rate.
